So there's been a lot of news recently about the TSA. People getting frisked, felt up, photographed naked and then whining about it. Hell, sounds like a good trip to Vegas, without the whining afterwards really, but by the same token, I can understand it to an extent.

Missile

Forewarning, I'm tired so this one is likely to be short, angry and punchy. If you don't like any of those traits, well, this is my catharsis.

I'd like to take a moment to talk about something that's been getting under my skin. It's a bit like having a splinter where the end has broken off and you can't quite reach the meat of the little annoying thing just below the surface that doesn't quite hurt but irritates until you want to take a knife to it. This, ladies and gentlemen, is the knife I am going to take to this little splinter called Westboro Baptist Church.

I am going to tackle the fairly sticky issue of marriage in all it's wonderful forms and splendor and in case you're confused, I'm being pretty sarcastic about that. No no, I'm not going to rant about the dread creature known as Bridezilla, though that certainly could be a topic all on it's own, along with the outrageous costs of most ceremonies. No, I want to talk about the real down and dirty stuff.

So, we had our grand 'mid term election' last night and the results are rolling in and, quite naturally, I'm reading the results and noticed something about California attempting to legalize marijuana.

Misrepresentation

Two posts in two days this month? I'm far too kind to you people. Either I'm growing soft in my old age, or I'm finding more things to write about.

Right now what's going through my head is the concept of reality. We're all fairly certain we have a good grasp on it, or at least those of us who are considered sane most certainly. But it's a question that constantly finds it's way back into our culture. It's a question that's been bothering our subconsciousness since we first dreamed.

What is reality? How can we be certain? What if we're wrong?

Misrule

We have an election coming up very very shortly as I was just recently reminded by a friend and yes, I am going to go vote as I often do. Actually I intend to encourage everyone into participating in this event.

Misdirection

I'm really starting to get tired of the first person perspective film. That and the whole 'found photography' thing. Fair warning, this rant may not go on for very long but it's something that I have to get off of my chest.

Misspoken

I've been thinking a lot lately about the words we use. If any of you have read any amount of this blog, you'll notice that while I craft my words with a fair amount of care, I also swear profanely. Is it possible for me to make the same arguments without the language? Absolutely and ofttimes I can be just as effective without the so-called 'foul' language. This quite naturally begs the question, "Why use those words then?" The fairly simple answer to this question is: Because I can.

Misery Loves Company

First off, let me say quite simply. Fuck Windows. Had quite a bit of this written, then it goes and updates itself causing me to lose it all. However, that's only a minor annoyance. On with the blog!

I have a secret. There is a trick to being able to write this blog. It's fairly simple but, I'm not going to tell you what it is.

Up on deck today I'm going to talk about that favorite pasttime of people without jobs, brains, common sense, or those who are just crazy. Yep, I'm talking about Mudkips. Ha, no. Actually we're going to have a talk about conspiracy theories and the reasons people come up with and believe in them. The easiest way I know how to do this is to tackle them one at a time and do what I can to crack the nutjob ideas surrounding these events.

Google. What comes to mind when you hear that? "That search thing?" "Those people who took on China?" "The evil corporation that wants all my stuff?!"

Google is a company that has done quite a lot and generated a lot of news. The latter response is, in all honesty, the most misguided one, but an actual response that I have heard in various places.

Mission to the Stars

I've been thinking a lot about space lately. This happens on occasion but, what can one expect from a sci-fi geek? This may become slightly rantish so, settle in and yes, I made up another word.

Mistaken

So, I know this thing has been ignored, for a long time now by internet terms, but perhaps I will find the time to pick it up again. "Oh you silly fuck, that's what you said last time!" Yeah, I know but, it's not like anyone is actually reading this so it's ultimately a non-issue. However I will continue to cast my words into the void just to see if they return to me one day.

In the mean time I'm also picking up writing a comic book, have the beginnings for a novel which I might trash or I might resurrect one of these days, have been doing short stories for the fun of it, writing a game because I can, playing in a wholly separate game with other friends, attempting futilely to find a date, and still pondering the possibility of building a forge in the back yard for who-knows-what reason.

For the moment I find myself lacking anything to rant about, but I'm fairly sure that will change in time. In the mean time, projects keep me busy and keep me happy.

Yes. Laziness crept in again and I have not updated this site in some time, but then, I'm such a gentle soul few things really piss me off and, having covered a topic I tend not to revisit it over and over without need. Having said that, however, I suppose I could regale you with various stories from yesteryear. But I won't. That's not quite cathartic enough and the point of this blog, for me, was to get things off of my chest.
